We visited Wycombe Museum over the Easter Holidays after a tip off from a friend of mine. We met some friends there as it was roughly half way between us and the weather wasn’t great so we fancied somewhere indoors.
We thought we would spend an hour or so there before going on somewhere else, and 5 hours later we were still thoroughly entertained and the kids didn’t want to leave.
The museum explores the history of Wycombe District and its surrounding areas with a number of interactive exhibits, and is located in a beautiful Grade II listed building and is surrounded by gorgeous gardens.
The museum is split over 2 floors with the restaurant and gift shop downstairs along with a room set up as an old kitchen and washer room where the children can dress up and role play by making dinner or washing clothes.
Upstairs there was even more to explore with interactive displays, brass rubbing, searching for fossils and more dressing up. We stopped half way to have some lunch in the restaurant which was delicious and the children had great fun playing with the puzzles and games available.
Before we left the kids had a lovely time exploring the gardens where in the summer they host lots of events and outdoor games.
We absolutely loved Wycombe museum and can’t wait to return later in the year.
