Makers Club at The Queens Part Art Centre: 3 March 2018

Mixed Crafts

Two Sessions:
Session 1 (ages 5+): 10:00am – 11:15am
Session 2 (ages 7-11): 11:30am – 12:45pm

Fun, hands-on workshops with experienced tutors.

Explore a range of materials and techniques and develop your own ideas with help from our fantastic tutors.

Pottery For 7 – 11 year olds

Two Sessions:

Session 2: 11:30am – 12:45pm

Use your imagination, and get messy with clay!

Take an old shirt and lots of ideas.

Kids Hour: Sphero Maze Challenge

Kids Hour is designed to spark imagination and creativity through fun, hands-on projects. Kids will explore coding with Sphero robots by programming simple movements, loops and more. Then they’ll design a maze and navigate their robot through the obstacles. Kids can take their own iPad and Sphero Sprk+ robot, or there will be one provide. Recommended for ages 6 to 12

Date and time: Saturday 3 March between 9:30am – 10:30am 



Kids Hour: Book Club

In this Kids Hour, they’ll be reading The Further Tale Of Peter Rabbit on iBooks. Celebrate the magic of storytelling through creativity and play. Kids will get hands-on with drawing characters and scenes, creating their own book cover, and more using iPad Pro and Apple Pencil. They can bring their iPad or one will be provided. Recommended for ages 4-10.

Date and time: Saturday 3 March between 4:30pm – 5:30pm 


Kids Hour: Making Books Together

This Kids Hour is dedicated to exploring creativity through movie making for both kids and parents. You will start with brainstorming ideas. Then kids will practice basic camera techniques and shoot footage using iPad Pro. They’ll finish by creating a professional movie trailer with iMovie. Kids can bring their own iPad or they will be provided with one. Recommended for ages 6 to 12.

Date and time: Sunday 4 March between 11am – 12p

World Book Day Celebrations

Celebrate World Book Day at the Museum! Join in with Writing Hut Talks, make a Dirty Beast in the Crafty Kitchen, and follow a trail around the Museum. Don’t forget to exchange your World Book Day voucher in the Shop.

Date and times: Saturday 3 March  11am –  3pm

Cost:  Free with museum entry

Age: suitable for 4+ years.

Hornswoggler Heads

As part of our World Book Day celebrations, artist Georgia Davy will help you make a head for a Hornswoggler and turn yourself into one of Roald Dahl’s most fearsome beasts!

Date and times:  Saturday 3 March 12.00pm, 1.30pm and 3.00pm

Cost: £3 per participant. (plus museum entry)

Women of Stowe Trail3 & 4 March 2018

From a warrior knight to an all-powerful goddess, pick up a guide and discover the hidden stories of women at Stowe.

Grab your coat and boots and head to Stowe and take part in this self led trail, which is available from the New Inn welcome centre and will run throughout the whole of the February half term.

This is a family friendly activity, children welcome. Dogs on leads are welcome.

Highway Rat Activity Trail at Wendover Woods: 3 & 4 March 2018

The Highway Rat is the latest Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler book to be brought to life at Wendover Woods.

Follow the panels, complete activities and interact with the forest as you head on a journey with The Highway Rat and all the characters from the story!

Take your crafty little monster along to their super fun Mother’s Day workshop and they can create a lovely Mother’s Day card and gift.

Whilst you have a cuppa they will help your crafty monster decorate either a ceramic heart plant pot including a plant. If ceramics aren’t your thing then you can decorate a frame and have fun taking a cool Polaroid photo in the Mother’s Day photo booth. Whilst things are drying and developing your little one will get to choose to make either a tea’rific or button Mother’s Day card.

There is limited space for this workshop, so booking a ticket in advance is recommended.

Anna Rose Dance, Wycombe Swan: 4 March 2018

This will be Anna Rose Dance’s forth bi-annual performance and their second at the Wycombe Swan. Performing dances to the popular songs of the charts and musicals featuring numbers in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Street Dance, Musical Theatre and Cheerleading.

Anna Rose Dance offers classes in and around the High Wycombe area for ages 2.5 upwards.
