Pinnochio at Queens Park Art Centre: 16 – 17 December

Roll up, roll up for a very special festive adventure as Queens Park Arts Centre’s traditional family pantomime takes a trip to Toyland.

When Fairy Celestia grants old Geppetto’s wish for a son, his treasured puppet Pinocchio magically springs to life! But there’s danger afoot as the dastardly Mangiafuoco – ringmaster of the Traveling Toy Circus – plots to steal the little wooden boy away to become his new headline act!

Soon Pinocchio finds himself lost in Toyland, whilst Geppetto embarks on a quest to bring his son home. The great wide waves divide them – and where there’s a sea, there are sea monsters…

Featuring, catchy songs, side-splitting slapstick routines, a healthy dose of audience participation and stunning sets, costumes, puppets and props created by the artists and makers of Queens Park Arts Centre, this year’s panto is set to be the biggest and best yet.

The show is produced as part of Queens Park’s in-house storytelling programme Unbound, and once again features the talented students of the Susan Diane School of Dance.

Show Run-time (incl. interval): 2hrs 10mins

Location: Queens Park, Aylesbury, Bucks, HP21 7RT

The theme for this year’s decorations, Enchanted Menagerie, celebrates the weird and wonderful animals that can be seen throughout Waddesdon’s collections, from an elephant parade inspired by the 18th-century musical automaton to a life-sized zebra and trees decked with colourful birds and mythical beasts!

From dusk, an extraordinary new light and sound show Waddesdon Imaginarium, will be projected onto the Manor’s ornate façade.  Visitors will be dazzled by roaming porcelain animals, dancing musical clocks, fluttering clouds of butterflies and moths and
18th-century portraits creating a fantastical visual story of Waddesdon.

Wrap up warm, head outside and discover light art by American artist Lauren Booth. Electric Menagerie winds from the Aviary to the Stables,  with neon goats, parrots and even a flea circus.
