The Wild Tweed Show 2018, West Wycombe Estate

Sunday 6 & Monday 7 May 2018

Wild Tweed is the definitive country show and is set in the beautiful Chiltern countryside, on Sunday 6 and Monday 7 May 2018. There will be fun for all the family with live music and entertainment, artisan food stalls, boutique shopping, celebrity interviews on the Wild Tweed sofa, children’s shows and special guests. As well as all this you can also expect; a competitive clay shoot competition, garden games, a children’s photography competition, and not forgetting the champagne bar!

The show takes place at E.J Churchill, West Wycombe Estate in Bucks. It’s open Sunday 10.30am – 8.00pm and Monday 10.30am – 6.00pm. Strictly entry with tickets only and must be purchased in advance.

Spring Jousting Tournament at Blenheim Palace

Saturday 5 – Monday 7 May 2018

Blenheim Palace will be home to a weekend packed with action and entertainment, with knights on horseback charging in traditional tilt and battling on foot with the mighty mace and quarter staff. Highlights include; a new medieval fire archery display, falconry displays, a medieval blacksmith, a children’s archery range, jesters and a dragon puppet show. Longwick Village Fete

Saturday 5 May 2018, midday – 5.00pm

This bank holiday weekend bring the family along to the Village Green in Longwick on Saturday 5 May for their village fete. This will be packed with fun for everyone, including: garland parade and maypole dancing, Punch and Judy Show, dog show, traditional Morris Dancing, a mega slide and inflatable assault course, live music and entertainment, go karts, pony rides, birds of prey, fairground rides, a raffle, bar, food, and more!

Teddy Bear Diesel Day at Chinnor and Princes Risborough Railway

This Bank Holiday there will be lots of fun for families at Chinnor and Princes Risborough Railway, and on Saturday 5 May any children who bring a teddy (or any other plush animal) with them will get to travel free with a paying adult. Enjoy a fantastic ride on the vintage diesel train, with plenty of seats available to spread out and enjoy the journey. See the foothills of the Chilterns spring to life, and you might spot some of the local wildlife in the form of deer and Red Kites. All the while the train will be making its way along the gentle 45 minute round trip to Thame junction and back.

There’s plenty of free parking at the railway as well as a café and a souvenir shop. Adult prices from £11.00, children £6.00, children under 5 years are free. For more information, click here.

May Day Merriment at Chiltern Open Air Museum

Sunday 6 & Monday 7 May 2018

Experience traditional Elizabethan May Day merriment this Bank Holiday weekend at the Chiltern Open Air Museum in Chalfont St Giles. Discover what it was like to live in Elizabethan times, brought to life by the Suffolk Free Co. Meet costumed re-enactors, experience Elizabethan period traditions and listen to traditional music.

The Subwoofers Music Festival, Saunderton

Sunday 6 May 2018, 1.00 – 7.00pm

Looking for something a little different to do with the family this weekend? Bring the kiddies down to The Subwoofers Music Festival at The Grange, Saunderton this Sunday from 1.00 – 7.00pm. There will be loads of fun for all ages. The SubWoofers Music Festival is family-friendly! It’s dog-friendly! It’s deaf-friendly! It takes at Hearing Dogs for Deaf People’s beautiful centre nestled among the idyllic Chiltern hills. There’s a brilliant line-up of acts on two stages, food and drink, attractions and rides, plus all proceeds help deaf people leave behind loneliness and reconnect with life.

Aylesbury Junior Park Run

Aylesbury Junior Park Run is a 2k run for juniors only (4-14 year olds) event that is held every Sunday at 9.00am.

Location: Meadowcroft Open Space, Meadowcroft Road, Aylesbury, Bucks, HP19 9HH.

This is a free event encouraging fun, health and fitness in young people!

Lego Star Wars Days at Legoland Windsor Resort

5 – 7 May 2018

From Saturday 5 – Sunday 7 May 2018, Lego Star Wars Days are coming to Legoland Windsor. Be one with The Force and bring the kiddies down to the Lego Star Wars Zone located in the Imagination Centre for a galaxy of Lego filled activities, including:

  • Lego Star Wars Speed Build – How fast can you build a Lego Microfighter? Challenge your fellow Padawans to see who’s the fastest!
  • Lego Star Wars Mosaic – Your help is needed in building a giant Lego mosaic out of 70,000 Lego bricks
  • Character meet and greets – Meet your favourite Lego Star Wars characters including Lego Darth Vader and a Lego Storm Trooper
  • Costume competition – Come dressed in your best Lego Star Wars costume!
  • Character hunt – Can you spot all the Lego Jedi Minifigures hidden around the resort?
