Awful Auntie at Wycombe Swan: 3 February 2018

The Story – When Stella sets off to visit London with her parents, Lord and Lady Saxby, she has no idea her life is in danger! Waking up three months later, only her Aunt Alberta can tell Stella what has happened. But not everything Aunt Alberta tells her turns out to be true and Stella quickly discovers she’s in for the fight of her life against her very own awful Auntie!

Kids Hour: Sphero Maze Challenge

Kids Hour is designed to spark imagination and creativity through fun, hands-on projects. Kids will explore coding with Sphero robots by programming simple movements, loops and more. Then they’ll design a maze and navigate their robot through the obstacles. Kids can take their own iPad and Sphero Sprk+ robot, or there will be one provide. Recommended for ages 6 to 12

Date and time: Saturday 3 February between 9:30 am – 10:30 am and Sunday 4 February between 11am – 12pm

Creating Music with GarageBand

This Kids Hour celebrates music by teaching kids how to create exciting tunes and beats using GarageBand on iPad. First we’ll cover rhythm basics, and kids will get hands-on with creating their own drum beats. Then we’ll show them how to use Live Loops to make their very own Rock, Hip Hop or EDM track. Kids can bring their iPad or we’ll provide one. Recommended for ages 6 to 12.

Make a Monster Cave at The Roald Dahl Museum: 3 & 4 February 2018

Head to the Upper Babbling Room and help to turn this space into a beasts’ lair!  Build and decorate a cardboard den, and crawl inside with your family as you pretend to be a buzzwangling beast.

Treasure Island at Iver Heath Village Hall: 3 February 2018

Iver Heath Drama Club’s 2018 family- friendly pantomime is an adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic Treasure Island.

Join the heroes as they attempt to find Captain Flint’s long lost treasure and foil the devious Long John Silver’s plans.

With songs, dancing and jokes aplenty, join Blind Ali, Sea Snake Sally, Rosie Bloom and the rest of the crew for a fun filled evening of music, drama and laughter.

‘Stowedrops’ and spring flowers at Stowe: 3 – 4 February 2018

The scale and beauty of Stowe have attracted visitors for over 300 years. Picture-perfect views, winding paths, lakeside walks and temples create a timeless landscape, reflecting the changing seasons. Full of hidden meaning, the gardens were created as an earthly paradise and still cast their spell today.

As spring develops walk around the corner to find pockets of daffodils covering the hills, Wood and Blue anemones on the rocky banks, Turks head tulips, Crocuses, Snake’s head and imperial fritillaries and Aconites to name a few, sitting in the backdrop of Grecian style temples.

Pick up a leaflet from our visitor welcome area and check the daily blackboard – they will be highlighting where the newest and best ‘Stowedrops’ and spring flowers spots are in the gardens.

This is a family friendly activity, children welcome. Dogs on leads are welcome.

Snowdrop Walk, Cliveden National Trust

If you fancy getting out and about this weekend with the little ones, why not head over to Cliveden National Trust for their self-led snow drop walk. Follow the snowdrops around the estate, the best clusters are expected at Blenheim Lawn, Stable Bank and Ilex Grove. Pick up your trail sheet from the information centre. This trail is free of charge (normal admission to Cliveden applies, free entry with National Trust membership).

Please call in advance to confirm the status of the snowdrops.

Highway Rat Activity Trail at Wendover Woods: 3 – 4 February 2018

The Highway Rat is the latest Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler book to be brought to life at Wendover Woods.

Follow the panels, complete activities and interact with the forest as you head on a journey with The Highway Rat and all the characters from the story!

AYLESBURY JUNIOR PARK RUN: 4 February 2018 

Aylesbury Junior Park Run is a 2k run for juniors only (4-14 year olds) event that is held every Sunday at 9am.
