What’s on this Weekend in Bucks for Families: 14 & 15 July 2018

Emergency Services & Community Day, Buckinghamshire Railway Centre

Saturday 14 July 2018, 10.30am – 5.00pm

This Saturday is Special Community Day at Buckinghamshire Railway Centre, when all the emergency services will be coming down along with local charities, clubs and societies plus all the usual fun of a steaming day at the railway including steam train rides!

Meet the police, fire brigade and paramedics. Climb in a fire engine and have a look around a police car and ambulance. This day promises to be lots of fun for the whole family. The shop and café will also be open. There’s a special admission price of only £5.00, with under 5s going free.

Carters Steam Fair at Pedestal Field, West Wycombe

Saturday 14 & Sunday 15 July 2018

Carters Steam Fair is coming to Bucks, so get yourselves down to Pedestal Park in West Wycombe for all the fun of the fair this weekend. Running from 14 to 15 July 2018, Carters is an amazing experience run by a local family that’s been entertaining adults and children alike for 40 years. And you won’t want to miss the free fireworks display which takes place after 9.00pm on Saturday 14 July, great for families with older children.

The fair is free to get in to, and the rides operate on a token basis. You can buy tokens on the day at the fair, or online here now. You’ll also find plenty to fill tummies with food and drink vans, candy floss and sweets and treats. The fair will be open from midday – 11.00pm Saturday, and midday – 8.00pm Sunday.

Marlow Food & Drink Festival 2018

Friday 13 – Sunday 15 July 2018

This weekend will see the arrival of the Marlow Food & Drink Festival in Higginson Park. The festival, offering free entry, will run from Friday 13 – Sunday 15 July (Friday 11.00am – 8.00pm, Saturday 9.00am – 8.00pm and Sunday 10.00am – 6.00pm). There will be something for all the family at this 3 day extravaganza. Parents can expect a great range of craft beers, ales, ciders, a prosecco bar and wines to quench the thirst. There will be a huge selection of international street food on offer including Thai, Greek, Cheeses, Portuguese and Brazilian, as well as grocery stalls.

If this wasn’t enough there will be live music throughout the weekend, a seating area, and a fairground and fun chalk graffiti wall for younger ones.

Poupon’s Children’s Afternoon Tea, Waddesdon Manor

Saturday 14 & Sunday 15 July 2018

If you’re looking for a lovely treat for the children why not look at booking Poupon’s Children’s Afternoon Tea at Waddesdon Manor. Running every weekend until 28 October 2018, Poupon was Baron Ferdinand’s beloved black poodle and this afternoon tea is inspired by this little pooch. The tea includes things like; caramel biscuit poodle sandwich, paw print raspberry and vanilla lolly, chocolate bone cupcake, mini scone with strawberry jam and clotted cream, and pizza. They’ll also get a choice of drink.

Children’s afternoon tea prices are £15.50 and can be booked between midday and 4.15pm.

Incredibles 2 – out at Cinemas in Buckinghamshire this Weekend!

The eagerly awaited launch for the Incredibles 2 is Friday 13 July 2018. You can catch it at your local Buckinghamshire cinema this weekend. It’s time to get back to being incredible… We can’t wait! 14 – 21 July 2018

This is an annual community event which takes place in and around Buckingham and this year will run from Saturday 14 – Saturday 21 July 2018. There will be events for families and people of all ages, including live music and family fun and entertainment.

This year the MK Festival of Nature runs from 6 – 15 July 2018. You can expect 10 days of exciting wildlife events and activities for the whole family to get involved in. Game of Clues Murder Mystery at Cliveden National Trust

Saturday 14 & Sunday 15 July 2018, 10.30am – 3.30pm

A new year, a new victim, a new killer. Following last year’s crime caper, there’s a brand new outdoor mystery for you and your family to solve. The year is 1853 and, whilst the Sutherland’s are away visiting their London abode, Cliveden’s head butler has turned up dead on the estate. Mr Butter, a rather unsavoury character, was discovered fallen off his chair and smelling of whiskey, but how did he get there?

Follow the outdoors trail to solve the murder mystery. Costs £5.00 per trail and is suitable for children aged 8 years +. Dogs on leads are welcome. The trail runs from 10.30am – 3.30pm.

A Royal Summer Fayre, Great Kingshill Combined School, High Wycombe

Sunday 15 July 2018, 11.00am – 3.00pm

This Sunday is A Royal Summer Fayre at Great Kingshill Combined School. Bring the kiddies down for a great afternoon full of fun for the whole family, including;  mega slide, food court, train, ice creams, BBQ, plants, rides, crafts, tombola & raffle, games & competitions, crazy golf, face painting, cakes, and much more! Entry is £1.00 for adults, and children are free.

Eden’s Food Festival

Saturday 14 July 2018, 11.00am – 5.00pm

Back for 2018, Eden’s family friendly food festival is bigger and better than ever before and will be making a return to the Eden Shopping Centre this Saturday 14 July from 11.00am – 5.00pm. Bring the children down to try a huge range of foods and flavours, and make sure you’ve all worked up a big appetite before you get there! Angellica Bell, Queen of CBBC, regular on The One Show and winner of Celebrity Masterchef 2017, will be performing live cooking demos on stage. There will be a huge range of local food producers there, as well as food samples from Eden’s resident restaurants, including Bill’s, Wagamama, Yo! Sushi, Pizza Express and more!

Seussical at Princes Risborough School

Sunday 15 July 2018, 2.00pm

Seussical is fun for the whole family. Based on the works of Dr Seuss, this amateur production is presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International.

The show will take place at Princes Risborough School on Sunday 15 July. Doors open at 1.30 and the show starts at 2.00pm. Tickets from £8.00.
