Marlow May Fayre 2018

Saturday 12 May 2018, 10.00am – 5.00pm

Bring the family to Higginson Park in Marlow this weekend on Saturday 12 May from 10.00am – 5.00pm for the annual Marlow May Fayre. There will be fun for all ages, including; a BBQ, junior go-karts, zorb balls, craft stalls, live music and entertainment. And don’t miss the Duck Race at 3.30pm with a £500 1st prize! Don’t miss out on this great family event, and helping to raise money for local charities and causes.

Enchanted Museum at Chiltern Open Air Museum

Saturday 12 May 2018, 4.00pm – 8.30pm

Come to the Chiltern Open Air Museum on Saturday 12 May for a special late opening, a magical and exciting family evening at the museum. From 4.00 – 8.30pm see the Enchanted Museum come to life as legendary creatures (including the winged Pegasus) appear at an exciting twilight event at Chiltern Open Air Museum. The museum’s historic buildings will be lit up by candle, lantern and firelight for you to explore. This year’s theme is magical realms and you can take part in a number of activities and crafts inspired by traditional magical stories and fairytales. There will be marshmallow toasting by the campfire and children can take part in the Lost Boys versus Pirates battle.

All visitors, big and small, are invited to come in costume, and can enter the fancy dress competition. There will be a special enchanting walk through the woodlands, storytelling, face painting, and magical map creating. Children can spot Beatrix Potter characters around the allotment, see fictional small borrowing people in the Toll House and help Peter Pan find his shadow.

History Festival this Weekend at Milton Keynes Museum

Saturday 12 & Sunday 13 May 2018, 11.00am – 4.30pm

Tussles and trouble are on the agenda at Milton Keynes Museum’s History Festival. The Vikings are among the armies arriving at the museum – and with them a whole heap of turmoil from other turbulent times in the nation’s past. Invasion, civil war, and the war of Spanish Succession all feature in almost 2000 years of living history at the museum’s history festival. The festival is a chance to see and join in with people living, working, fighting and playing during key periods in the area’s history.

This will be great fun for all the family, and with all the usual museum attractions on offer too it’s an action packed day out.

Games of Clues: Murder Mystery at Cliveden National Trust

Saturday 12 & Sunday 13 May 2018, 10.30am – 3.30pm

A new year, a new victim, a new killer. Following last year’s crime caper, a brand new outdoor mystery has been created at Cliveden National Trust for you and your family to solve. The year is 1853 and, whilst the Sutherland’s are away visiting their London abode, Cliveden’s head butler has turned up dead on the estate. Mr Butter, a rather unsavory character, was discovered fallen off his chair and smelling of whiskey; but how did he get there…?

This event is suitable for children approximately 8+ years. Dogs on leads are welcome. Costs £5.00 per group. Pick up the trail info from the information centre at Cliveden by the car park.

Aylesbury Junior Park Run

Sunday 13 May 2018

Aylesbury Junior Park Run is a 2k run for juniors only (4-14 year olds) event that is held every Sunday at 9.00am.

Location: Meadowcroft Open Space, Meadowcroft Road, Aylesbury, Bucks, HP19 9HH.

This is a free event encouraging fun, health and fitness in young people!
