There are so many activities happening this February half term in and around Bucks, here’s our guide to what’s on for families:

Superhero Week at Waddesdon Manor

What is your ‘ikigai’? This is a Japanese concept meaning your ‘reason for being’ and we’ll help you discover what your mission is! Have a go at our superhero trail, solving the clues and riddles to claim your reward.

Bucks County Museum Half Term Activities, Aylesbury

Bucks County Museum will be running a Marvellous Masks activity session for children this half term. This will be on 13 February 2018. Children will be able to design their own face masks in sessions that run at 10.00am, midday, 1.00pm and 3.00pm. The session will be £3.00 per child and there’s no need to book, feel free to pop in on the day.

Orienteering at Cliveden this Half Term

An adventure awaits for young explorers at Cliveden this half term. With only a map and their imaginations, children will navigate their way around the very first orienteering adventure in Cliveden’s Woodlands. They’ll finish by getting craft and making their very own treasure box. Collect your trail sheet from the information centre.

Costs £2 per child, suitable for 3 – 13 years.

Half Term at Milton Keynes Museum

This February Half Term Milton Keynes Museum hosts five days of holiday activities geared to young visitors. You can expect a host of special attractions as well as all the usual demonstrations, displays, and dozens of fun things to do.

Prepare to enjoy some extraordinary science experiments, while there’ll be children’s crafts in the schoolroom every day. And of course all your hands-on favourites will also be available: playing music the way the Victorians did, attending classes in the Victorian schoolroom, making hot buttered toast over the range, brass-rubbing, taking a seat in the stocks, sending Morse Code and much, much more.

As usual, our granary cafe will be providing delicious affordable goodies to keep energy levels up.

World’s End Garden Centre Half Term Activities, Wendover

Bring the kiddies down to World’s End Garden Centre in Wendover this February Half Term to take part in a range of fun activities. Activities include; Make a Bird Home, Terrific Terranium, Grow your Own Mini Garden, Flower Power Pot and Feed the Birds. Check their schedule to see what days these will be running on. Hughenden Manor

Hughenden will have half term activities taking place for children from 12 – 16 February 2018. As well as enjoying a lovely walk around the grounds to burn off some energy, this is what you can expect;

Hibernating Hedgehogs – Make a woodland creature its own hibernation house. Come along and get crafting in Hughenden’s Studybase for this free event running daily throughout half term. Suitable for children aged up to 8 years. No need to book in advance. For more information, click here.

Trail Trackers – 15 February 2018, 10.30 – midday. children can become a trail tracker with the ranger team at Hughenden Manor. Put your orienteering skills to the test with a compass and a map on this sessions suitable for children 5 – 10 years. The session costs £4.00 per child and must be booked in advance. The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre, Great Missenden

This February half term there will be loads of Roald Dahl style fun happening at the Museum and Story Centre in Great Missenden. Sessions include;

  • Write your own rhymes at Rhythm, Rap and Rhyme with Neal Zetter
  • Boggled Box Beasts – Make a beast in this fun junk modelling session
  • Crockadowndilly Pots
  • Reptile Roadshow
  • Make a Monster Cave
  • and, Discover Dahl’s Archives

R Crazy Play Valentine’s Day Party, Marlow

Wednesday 14 February 2018, 1.30 – 4.30pm

This Valentine’s Day come down to R Crazy Play in Marlow for a kiddies Valentine’s party.

As well as the soft play set up, there will be music, decorations, and face painting and glitter tattoos (extra cost £1.00 each). Suitable for ages 0 – 5 years, older siblings also welcome.

Cost: £5.00 per child, £3.00 additional siblings.

‘Love Your Pets’ Half Term Event at Green Dragon Eco Farm

Year round, Green Dragon celebrates the animals in its care from the rare breeds farm animals to those in Pets’ Corner. Over February Half-term there will be a special ‘Love Your Pets’ theme. The skilled and experienced livestock staff will be hosting a variety of educational and fun experiences including: Q & A sessions and pet care workshops and encounters. A special holiday programme of encounters will provide fun, engaging, informative interaction with all the pets, including the farm animals, that will inspire visitors.

Xscape This Half Term, Milton Keynes

  • Ooh! I’ve just launched my superhero craft box, so we’ll definitely check out the Superhero trail at Waddesdon! Maybe we can take some photos of my craft box on tour! I love their trails, they’re really well done and the playground in the woods is fantastic too. I like the sound of hibernating Hedgehogs at Hughenden too!

    We’ve not been to the Roald Dahl Museum events yet. I’ve took my youngest to a couple of their toddler story sessions, but I’ve never been into the museum. I love the names of their craft activities!
