SUMMER OF COLOUR CHILDREN’S TRAIL AT CLIVEDEN

JULY 25 – SEPTEMBER 5

Summer of colour

The summer gardens at Cliveden are in full bloom and waiting to be discovered by little legs. Head along for Cliveden’s fun summer adventure trail where children will explore nature and create their own gift to take home.

The trail will change every fortnight over the 6 weeks summer holiday, with all 3 trails under the ‘Summer of Colour’ theme.

Lets Get Creative with Brilliant Butterflies at Black Park Country Park!

Bring the children to Foxley Copse this summer for some butterfly themed arts and crafts. Make and decorate your own butterfly homes and feeders to take home for your garden, let your imagination run wild! Book either a morning or afternoon time slot.

Wednesday 25 July 2018 – sessions run at 11.00am and 1.00pm.

Meeting point: Black Park Visitor Centre (a short walk from the public car park).

Pre-book online / family friendly / weather dependant. Tickets are £5.00 per child.

MILKSHAKE LIVE AT AYLESBURY WATERSIDE THEATRE

Milkshake Live at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre

Starring some of your milkshake favourites this brand new musical spectacular is sure to have children up on their feet and singing at the top of their voices!

Joining this fantastic show will be two milkshake presenters, who will take us on a fun milkshake adventure; bound to dazzle and delight!

The show features brand new songs, classic favourites and funky dance routines, plus plenty of laughter, bags of audience interaction and bucket loads of fun for all the family too!

SUMMER AT WYCOMBE MUSEUM

Wycombe Museum

We visited Wycombe Museum for the first time earlier in the year and managed to spend 5 hours there, read our review here.

Wycombe museum is a lovely place to take the kids to and if the weather is nice you can borrow their garden games free of charge to play in their beautifully landscaped garden.

They have a number of workshops and activities happening throughout the summer holidays too but you can visit any day and have a fantastic time.

SUMMER FUN AT THE GREEN DRAGON ECO FARM

AUGUST 1 – SEPTEMBER 2

Half term activities in buckinghamshire february 2018

The Green Dragon Eco Farm are opening their new Wildlife Zone on August 1st 2018, after a busy four months of preparations that included creating the huge enclosures, animal shelters and the central indoor display.

The animal encounters programme will include the new wildlife, allowing visitors to get close to animals, such as the golden eagle, reindeer, fox, ravens, red squirrels, barn and tawny owls.

There will also be competitions and quiz trails, farm & nature trails, indoor and outdoor play, and farm to fork menus in the cafés.

The Green Dragon Eco Farm won Best Family Attraction in the Little Ankle Biters Awards  in Buckinghamshire in 2018 and is definitely worth a visit.

 

DEN BUILDING BY THE CAMPFIRE, BLACK PARK COUNTRY PARK

Get stuck in with Den Building by the Campfire at Black Park Country Park in Wexham!

Have a go at building your own den in Black Park by the campfire. When you’re finished, enjoy toasted marshmallows over the fire.

Meeting point: Black Park Visitor Centre (a short walk from the public car park).

Online booking essential / family friendly. Tickets cost £16.50. This session runs on 1 & 2 August 2018 at 10.00am. It’s suitable for all ages, but children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Cliveden have a number of outdoor theatre productions taking place over the summer  so pack a picnic and take your family and friends to see theatrical performances, live in the open-air settings of Cliveden’s beautiful Water Garden.

JC Farm will once again be opening it’s doors to families this summer with loads to do and see for all the family.

PIRATES, PANTS AND WELLYPHANTS AT THE RIVER & ROWING MUSEUM, Henley

Pirates, Pants and Wellyphants

Nick Sharratt, the man behind the instantly recognisable illustrations for Jacqueline Wilson’s Tracy Beaker books, is the subject of this colourful, humorous and hands-on exhibition.

This fun packed exhibition explores Nick’s passion for drawing, from childhood to his current status as an internationally renowned illustrator and author.

DISCOVERY SPROUTS EVENTS IN AMERSHAM

AUGUST 9 , 14, 16 & 21

Discovery Sprouts encourages families to share adventures in the great outdoors. Letting you and your imaginations run wild as you jump, squelch, climb, shout and be free!

All the while accompanied by a rumpus of music, theatre and story telling

Expect a theatrical outdoors adventure where you and your children can get completely involved in a story. The structure is purposefully left really open so that children can explore in their own time– it can be whatever suits your child whether they want to climb a tree and jump in puddles or make a beautiful nature crown.  To make the story as immersive as possible we include music to add atmosphere and imaginatively placed props and temporary installations to interact with. There is also plenty of imaginative play and crafts to get stuck into!

RUMSEY’S CHOCOLATE BAR MAKING WORKSHOP

AUGUST 15 & 21

Rumsey's

Children will get to invent their own chocolate bars, creating them with the help of their chocolatiers. While the bars are setting children will design and draw their own bar wrappers.

It’s £20 per child which includes 2 bars of chocolate, a milkshake or a hot chocolate.

PARKLIFE WEEKEND, AYLESBURY

AUGUST 25 – AUGUST 26

This year’s Parklife Weekend in Aylesbury is shaping up to be the best yet.

Parklife weekend will start at midday on Saturday 25 August 2018 with Live in the Park, featuring 9.5 hours of continuous live music across two stages and a wide range of family fun and entertainment. For more information about Live in the Park, click here.

Saturday evening sees Stars in the Park. This is organised by UK Astronomy Events. Starting at 10:15pm, behind the main stage, join the team for a tour around the night sky using loads of amazing telescopes and equipment. Children must be accompanied at all times by an adult.

Church in the Park – this is an all inclusive open air service and celebration by The Aylesbury Church Network, it runs from 10:30am – midday.

Banquet in the Park – Aylesbury Church Network offers you a chance to feast on a selection of fine multi-cultural dishes provided free by different ethnic groups from our town.

The entire weekend culminates with Proms in the Park, where you are invited to bring picnics, rugs, flags and your best singing voices for this great British tradition, with a 45 piece concert band, soloists and a guest interval performance, still to be confirmed. A spectacular firework display will finish the entire weekend at 9:30pm on Sunday 26 August. For more information on Proms in the Park, click here.
